Seren Holmes LMSW (they, them, theirs) Psychotherapist
Seren Holmes (they/them) is a licensed therapist whose approach to individual and relationship therapy is psychodynamically and psychanalytically informed, meaning they work with people to unearth the hidden roots of their decisions and struggles. Over time, deepening the study of our lives can provide insight and relief from psychic pain, revealing greater capacity to live with more passion, creativity and aliveness. They work collaboratively with clients moving through questions related to the complexities of intimacy, relationships, gender, sexuality, political activism, and interpersonal/state violence. Seren brings thoughtful attention to issues of identity, power and belonging, embracing liberatory practices to explore our histories, patterns, desires, and sociopolitical realities.
Outside of psychotherapy, Seren has a background in abolitionist, anti-imperialist and feminist community organizing. They received their MSW from CUNY’s Silberman School of Social Work during which time they worked in community mental health settings. They have a BA in Gender Studies from the College of Wooster and an MA in Postcolonial Studies from SOAS University of London.
