Beñat Quartararo, LMSW (he, him, his) Psychotherapist

Does it seem like past events, people, or experiences haunt your present? Are you being pulled along by hidden undercurrents, no matter how hard you swim against them? With Beñat, you can be yourself and be heard without judgement. He brings deep curiosity and respect for where the client is in their story and who they want to be in their next chapter. His approach invites clients to discover the many ways in which they make meaning of their experiences through language, body, and identity.

Beñat specializes in childhood trauma and trauma recovery, and is a skilled listener who knows when to speak up and guide you, positioning himself as a trusted anchor throughout your journey toward self-understanding and self-improvement. When working with adolescents and young adults, he understands that healing happens best when there's trust and clear communication, with both you and your family. He collaborates thoughtfully with parents and guardians, always being transparent about what he shares and why, so you know exactly what to expect.

Beñat’s approach to therapy is based in psychodynamic theory, incorporating elements of mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). He values what aspects of ourselves have gone unnoticed or omitted to make our stories legible to others. He has supported clients' exploration of a broad range of issues, including anxiety, navigation of queer identity, depression, past and present traumatic experiences and relational difficulties.

Beñat received his MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work. Beñat encourages each client to move at their own pace and offers himself as an anchor to ground clients in taking emotional risks. During his training he worked with a diverse population of adolescents and adults between internships at Radical Healing (Raleigh, NC) and Swarthmore College.
