Anthony Phagoo, MHC-LP (he, him) Psychotherapist

Anthony is a mental health counselor who offers a warm, compassionate, and strengths-based therapeutic space where clients are met with acceptance and care. He values therapy as a space where clients can explore their experiences with openness and intention, and believes that being genuinely understood can support meaningful change. Anthony approaches therapy with curiosity and respect, honoring each client’s lived experience while supporting them in deepening their connection to identity, reclaiming personal agency, and moving toward a more empowered and authentic way of living.

Anthony works from an integrative and eclectic approach, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, somatic work, and narrative therapy. He supports clients in building practical tools to navigate distress while also creating space to explore identity, meaning, and the experiences that inform how they move through the world.

Anthony approaches therapy through a liberation psychology and social justice framework, attending to the broader cultural, relational, and systemic forces that shape clients’ experiences. He has experience working with people of color, LGBTQIA+ and queer communities, Latinx clients, and immigrant populations, and offers therapy in both English and Spanish. Prior to joining Roots and Branches, Anthony worked in community mental health settings. These experiences inform his commitment to honoring diverse narratives and approaching therapeutic work with cultural humility and care.
